In 1929, the Arkansas Hardware Association transitioned to become the Arkansas Homefurnishings Association in hopes to provide support and protection to the furniture retailers within the state. From its very beginning it offered benefits for the retailers from healthcare to discounted pricing on sold tags. Since then the AHA has made consistent and productive efforts to remain the association that furniture retailers in Arkansas know and trust, however, as the industry has changed over the years, so has the AHA. Now working with 22 other states as well as Arkansas, it has become an association for all furniture retailers, big and small, with the same values from when it all began in 1929.
While encompassing a humble disposition from its very founding, the Arkansas Homefurnishings Association has made great strides to enable itself to provide all furniture retailers in the country with similar benefits. The flagship of this association is within its furniture financing companies, for which the AHA is very fortunate and grateful to call partners as well as friends. This relationship between the AHA and its partners has given the association its ability to adapt in a changing industry and become what it is today. As a strong and solid competitor in the furniture industry, the AHA boasts over 500 retail and associate members within the state while also working with its affiliate members in the other 22 states.
Accompanying the specialty finance programs, the AHA provides its in state members with federal and state lobbying that is aimed at protecting against unfair taxation and legislation, education for home furnishings retail store executives and employees consulting them on all business needs, savings on dental insurance, health insurance, and networking between its members to allow the exchange of retail experience and information.
